Following the decision by the CRTC, on 11 December 2008, MTS Allstream decided to petition the federal Cabinet, which has the power to reverse this decision. In recent weeks, many other organizations including the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses, the Canadian Association of Internet Service Providers and almost 2 dozen Internet service providers in different parts of the country have joined together in this cause. Thousands of emails have been sent to Prime Minister Harper, Liberal Leader Ignatieff and Industry Minister Clement, as well as to individual MP's.
